The Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana (CAPNI) is a member-based organization dedicated to advancing the role and impact of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) through advocacy, education, and professional development across the state of Indiana.
CAPNI is seeking a Membership & Operations Assistant to support the daily operations of the organization while assisting with membership administration and daily operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities from concept through completion. This role requires strong accountability and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Location: Remote (your home office); Requires access to Indianapolis or surrounding area as needed
Hours:
This role offers a flexible work structure while meeting organizational needs:
- Estimated at 10-15 hours per week. Some availability needed between Monday–Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET for coordination.
- Ability to increase hours during peak project periods, such as conferences or major organizational initiatives (anticipated one to two peak periods per year).
- Collaborative meetings within Indianapolis or surrounding areas approximately once per month
Status: Independent Contractor (1099)
Anticipated Start: Mid-April to May
Compensation Range: $25–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience and position fit

Key Responsibilities | Operational Assistance
- Respond to association inquiries in a timely and professional manner through email and phone
- Assist with maintenance of the organization’s website content
- Assist with social media accounts, including content scheduling and engagement
- Support regional representatives with posting and communications regarding regional events
- Assist with tracking member participation and segmentation for communications, surveys, and outreach
- Assist with organizing financial records, including tracking invoices, payments, and receipt documentation
- Maintain accurate lists of speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees
- Maintain internal dashboards and organizational reports
- Support tracking of organizational initiatives, program participation, and engagement metrics
Key Responsibilities | Membership Services Assistance
- Assist with the membership database to ensure accurate member records
- Assist with membership renewals and member communications
- Assist with tracking membership metrics and engagement trends
- Support general membership communications regarding renewals and stewardship
- Coordinate marketing communications including email distribution and templated graphic creation
- Maintain member interest lists (committees, regions, volunteer roles)
Required Experience
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working with an association, member-based organization, or community-based organization (e.g., YMCA, gym, or similar) or healthcare experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with commonly used digital platforms such as Google Workspace, Canva, Toggl, virtual meeting platforms, and project/task management software (Basecamp or similar)
- Familiarity with independent contractor work arrangements preferred
- Must maintain a fully functional home office, including personal computer, internet access, and necessary equipment
