Case Manager Position Overview
Location Requirement
You must reside within 60 minutes of at least one of the following West Virginia counties to be eligible for this position:
Boone, Lincoln, Cabell, Wayne, Mingo, Logan, Randolph, Upshur, Barbour, Lewis, Gilmer, Braxton, Kanawha, Harrison, Mason, Putnam, Taylor, Wetzel, and Putnam.
Work Schedule
Unlike Family Support Workers, some Case Manager duties may be completed during the daytime, as not all services require children to be present. However, flexibility is still necessary to meet client and agency needs, including evening or weekend availability. Work is completed in the client’s home, community or the DoHS/CFS office.
Typical Case Manager Duties
- Teaching individualized parenting and adult life skills
- Conducting supervised visits for children in foster care
- Delivering in-home safety services and monitoring risk factors
- Performing client intakes and assessments
- Developing and monitoring individualized service plans
- Coordinating with schools, healthcare providers, and community resources
- Attending MDTs and court hearings when necessary
- Maintaining timely, accurate documentation and submitting required reports
- Providing advocacy and linkage to supportive services
- Monitoring client progress and addressing service barriers
Education Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services-related field is required.
Degrees considered human services-related include:
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Counseling
- Criminal Justice
- Human Services
- Education
- Nursing or other Health Sciences
Other similar degrees may be accepted if relevant to direct client support and case management.
General Requirements for All Applicants
- Must pass drug screening, criminal background check, and CPS abuse/neglect registry check
- Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree or higher
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be organized, professional, and capable of independent work
Home Office and Communication
Our home office is located in Fort Gay, WV.
While most paperwork and communication are handled online, staff may occasionally be required to come to the office—though this is rare.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
