Civil Construction Superintendent – Combustion Turbine Project
We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to support a combustion-turbine construction project in Marshall, Minnesota.
This position will work directly alongside the Owner’s Construction Management team, overseeing EPC contractors and coordinating civil construction activities to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely project execution.
Location / Schedule
• Onsite in Marshall, Minnesota
• Five days per week
• 10-hour workdays
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the Owner’s Representative for civil construction activities
• Oversee EPC contractors and subcontractors performing work onsite
• Monitor earthwork, foundations, concrete, underground utilities, drainage, grading, and site development
• Perform daily field inspections and monitor safety, quality, progress, and schedule
• Review construction drawings, specifications, inspection plans, RFIs, and project documentation
• Coordinate civil activities with mechanical, electrical, and other construction disciplines
• Identify construction issues and support timely resolution
• Hold contractors accountable for quality, safety, schedule, and corrective actions
• Prepare daily reports and document construction progress and field conditions
• Support punch-list completion, turnover, and project closeout activities
Required Experience
• 5–10 years of civil construction experience
• Previous Construction Superintendent experience required
• Combustion-turbine or power-generation construction experience strongly preferred
• Refinery, LNG, petrochemical, turnaround, or comparable heavy-industrial experience considered
• Strong experience with foundations, concrete, earthwork, underground utilities, and site development
• Working knowledge of mechanical construction and civil-to-mechanical interfaces
• Experience overseeing EPC contractors as an Owner’s Representative preferred
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and inspection plans
• Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and field problem-solving skills
• College degree not required; candidates with strong skilled-trades and field-construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply
