Toyota Express Maintenance Technician
Location: 357 Siemers Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO, 63701
Job Summary
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn our processes. In this role, you will perform light maintenance and repairs, including lube, oil, and filter changes, balancing and rotation of tires, and flushing cooling systems. Automotive experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. Hiring is based on background check, drug screen, and driving record results. Salary is based on experience, training, tools, and skill set. Saturdays (7:30A-3:30P) will be required as part of the schedule for these positions.
Essential Duties
- Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish as necessary.
- Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, classes, and events.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean.
- Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean.
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals; return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when received.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Experience, Competencies, and Education
- No prior experience or training required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-to-three-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be insurable by the Company insurance plan.
- Must follow Company safety policies and practices, and immediately report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
