Director of Earthworks & Underground Utilities

East Coast, USA

About PNK Group

PNK Group is one of the fastest-growing industrial real estate developers in the United States, specializing in large-scale logistics, manufacturing, and industrial facilities.

The company operates as a fully integrated platform, combining development, design, construction, equipment management, and project execution under one roof. Today PNK Group manages more than 10 active projects across multiple East Coast states and continues to expand rapidly.

Unlike many developers, PNK is actively building internal construction capabilities rather than relying exclusively on subcontractors. The company already owns and operates a fleet of more than 155 heavy equipment units and 70 light equipment units and is investing heavily in creating scalable operational platforms that can support future growth.

We are now looking for a senior construction leader to build and lead one of the most critical functions within the business.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional construction management role.

This is an opportunity to build and scale a multi-state Site Construction & Underground Utilities operation responsible for earthworks, site preparation, underground infrastructure, paving, resource allocation, contractor management, and project execution.

The successful candidate will inherit an existing organization, significant equipment resources, active projects, and direct support from ownership, while having the autonomy to shape the operating model, strengthen the team, improve productivity, and create a scalable platform for future growth.

The role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on operational expertise.

You will be responsible for:

• Earthworks and site preparation operations across multiple states

• Underground utilities and site infrastructure

• Equipment fleet utilization and resource planning

• Contractor management and procurement strategy

• Budgeting, cost control, and operational performance

• Building and developing teams across multiple locations

• Establishing systems, processes, and operational standards

• Supporting project planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews

• Driving safety, execution quality, and delivery performance

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a builder and operator.

The ideal candidate combines deep field experience with the ability to lead large, geographically distributed operations.

Requirements:

• 15 years of construction experience

• 7 years in senior operational leadership roles

• Significant experience in earthworks, site construction, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience overseeing large equipment fleets and self-perform operations

• Proven ability to build teams, systems, and operational functions

• Strong commercial, budgeting, and contractor management skills

• Entrepreneurial mindset and ownership mentality

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, high-accountability environment

Experience in industrial construction, industrial real estate development, site development, or heavy civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Compensation

• Base salary from $300,000 annually

• Performance-based bonus tied to project delivery and operational KPIs

• Standard bonus structure of $0.20 per square foot of completed building area under direct management and control

• Significant opportunity for long-term growth and impact within the organization

Why Join PNK Group

This role offers a rare opportunity to build a business within a business.

You will have direct influence on strategy, operations, equipment investments, organizational structure, and project execution while helping create one of the strongest self-perform site construction platforms in industrial real estate.

If you are excited about building, scaling, and leading rather than simply maintaining, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
