What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager (Part Time) position at Coach Tim's Healthy Meals?
Part Time Assistant Manager
Coach Tim’s Healthy Meals – starting at $21/hour
16–20 hours/week | weekend availability required
About Us
Coach Tim’s Healthy Meals was founded to help busy, active people thrive every day through nourishing, sustainable, local food. We use organic produce (seasonal), high-quality meats, and zero refined sugar. Our meals are prepared following Paleo / Whole30 style protocols (with occasional allowances). Gluten-free always. We serve The Columbia River Gorge and now Bend, Oregon.
We believe food is fuel—and that when we’re fed well, we can live well. Our meals are freshly prepared and fully portioned, packaged in glass so they’re easy to reheat and use.
Role Summary
We’re looking for someone who can step in as an Assistant Manager to support our lead Hood River manager Bo in kitchen operations, production, and team leadership. This role is hands-on: you’ll be helping cook, prepare, package, and manage meals, coordinate with producers/farmers, maintain our high standards, and support/coaching other staff. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of weekly meal subscription production, pick-ups, delivery logistics, and customer order customizations.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong passion for healthy, clean, whole foods—ideally alignment with what we do (organic produce, no refined sugar, Paleo/Whole30 leaning).
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen, or a similarly fast-paced meal prep / food production environment.
- Available to work weekends plus Monday’s. We cook Saturday’s and Sunday’s and food goes our or is picked up on Monday.
- Someone who can see themselves in this position for at least 2 years and help us build and grow.
- A team player who can also lead: good communication, ability to manage/co-ordinate others.
- Strong multitasking skills; calm under pressure when schedules are tight, orders stack up, etc.
Perks Of Joining Us
- Work in a business that is innovative, niche, health-focused, you’ll be part of something special, not just another food job.
- Helping the community get meals that are local, seasonal, clean, delicious - your work has real purpose.
- Hands-on leadership experience: kitchen operations, staff coordination, process improvement.
- Work alongside positive, upbeat, like-minded people who care about food, health, and sustainability.
- Flexibility: even though weekend availability is required, you’ll have some opportunities to take weekends off here and there when needed.
- Being part of a business with staying power: local sourcing, organic, sustainable focus. This isn’t a flash-in-the-pan gig; we’re here to build a long-term operation.
Important Notes
- This is part-time work: 16–20 hours per week.
- Pay starts at $21/hour.
If you’re someone who loves clean, nourishing food, who wants more than just a job—who wants to make an impact on people’s health while growing your skills—this could be a perfect fit.
