Your expertise will help maintain our reputation for excellence by managing quality assurance programs, conducting audits, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), test plans, and work instructions for incoming, in-process, final inspections, and service repairs/returns.
- Create detailed test procedures and acceptance criteria (functional, dimensional, visual, electrical/mechanical as applicable) that can be executed in the lab, on the manufacturing line, or in the service repair area.
- Perform hands-on inspection and verification of products coming out of manufacturing and items returned from customers or service calls, including sampling, functional testing, dimensional checks, visual audits, and recording results.
- Use electronic tools (MS Excel, Word, SharePoint, QA/QMS systems, ticketing/service management software, inspection software, and lab software) to capture test data, generate test and service reports, and maintain document version control.
- Establish and maintain inspection checklists, return-for-repair forms, service test templates and repair SOPs in both paper and digital formats; automate data collection and reporting where practical.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) — assign, track, and verify corrective actions with manufacturing partners, service teams, and internal stakeholders; ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification.
- Act as the primary quality liaison to external manufacturers and contract partners; lead supplier quality reviews, audits, and on-site inspections as needed.
- Support the Service Department by providing test procedures, diagnostic guides, and participate in service concerns when required.
- Communicate quality trends, warranty exposure, and risk to stakeholders (production, engineering, procurement, R&D, service) and escalate critical issues appropriately.
- Train manufacturing, QC, and service staff on SOPs, test procedures, inspection criteria, and repair processes; create user-friendly guides and quick-reference materials.
- Track key quality and service metrics (defect rates, escape rate, return rate, warranty claims, supplier nonconformances, CAPA closure time) and prepare regular reports and dashboards.
- Support ad-hoc quality and service projects (continuous improvement initiatives, corrective action verification, supplier or service partner development).
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or related technical field OR 5 years of relevant experience in quality inspection or manufacturing quality roles.
- Proven experience writing SOPs, test procedures, and inspection checklists.
- Hands-on experience performing functional and visual inspections and basic test equipment use (calipers, gauges, multimeters, microscopes, etc.).

- Knowledge of basic quality tools and problem-solving methods (FMEA, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, Control Charts).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with suppliers and production teams.
- Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
