Position Summary:We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Estate Gardener to provide comprehensive care and maintenance for approximately 7 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. This hands-on role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to ensure the gardens and outdoor areas are consistently maintained to the highest standards—always “parade ready.”Primary Responsibilities:Perform the overall care, upkeep, and enhancement of the estate's gardens, lawns, plantings, and landscaped areas.Conduct routine maintenance including weeding, pruning, edging, mulching, leaf removal, and seasonal planting.Maintain and troubleshoot systems such as underground irrigation, outdoor lighting, and decorative water features (e.g., fountains). With assistance of contractors.Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all garden areas through regular leaf blowing, pathway upkeep, and general tidying.Carry out seasonal tasks including snow removal, salting of pathways, and winter protection of plants and features.Undertake light handyman duties and small repairs as needed, particularly related to outdoor infrastructure and garden fixtures.Monitor plant health, soil condition, and irrigation effectiveness; report any issues or abnormalities promptly.Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectively.Support the preparation of the grounds for events or special occasions as directed by the Estate Manager.Requirements:Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or groundskeeping (private estate experience a plus).Ability to perform physically demanding labor in various weather conditions and over extended periods.Strong attention to detail and a pride in maintaining a pristine and aesthetically pleasing environment.Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and seasonal workloads.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
