Summary
This position is a member of COA’s facilities team.
The Facilities Assistant Floater helps ensure that buildings, equipment, and grounds are clean, safe, and well- maintained. This position supports day-to-day facility operations, event setup, and basic maintenance tasks to keep the organization running smoothly.
This is a full time year-round position eligible for benefits.

Main Job Responsibilities
- Assist with daily upkeep of facilities, including cleaning, organizing, and restocking supplies.
- Support setup and breakdown of room, furniture, and equipment for programs and events.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs, minor repairs, and painting.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies, when requested, in a timely manner.
- Assist with grounds keeping, including outdoor upkeep and seasonal tasks.
- Maintain storage areas and equipment in good working order.
- Work closely with Facilities Manager and other team members to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
- Provide support to staff and visitors regarding facility needs.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure a secure and safe environment for employees and clients.
- Monitor facilities for safety concerns and report issues promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Due to the nature of this role, which involves working at various facilities as scheduled, candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance. Travel between sites is essential to fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Previous experience in facilities, custodial, or maintenance work helpful but not required.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the maintenance tasks.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or be on call for emergencies.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces.
