- Develop a hospital plan for the provision of nursing care based on patient needs and the hospital mission.
- Review work schedules, assignments, patient classification, and supervisor reports to assess staffing requirements for quality care.
- Recommend and implement changes in personnel and assignments as necessary.
- Act as an administrative resource to clinical directors/coordinators.
- Participate with the governing body, management team, medical staff, and clinical areas in developing, implementing, and evaluating the hospital's strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, and policies.
- Meet regularly with the administrative team to discuss objectives, staffing needs, and management issues.
- Stay informed about nursing care and management through literature, workshops, seminars, courses, and conferences.
- Implement an ongoing evaluation process for patient care to ensure continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and ensure the nursing process is carried out consistently for all patients.
- Ensure the continuous availability of nursing services to patients.
- Incorporate current research findings into policies and procedures for nursing care.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
- 5 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment overseeing multiple complex nursing departments.
- Preferred: Previous experience as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and in a surgical hospital.
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or policy.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
