Position Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our plating shop. The chosen candidate will be joining our team to help preserve the condition of our premises, systems and installations.
Hourly Wage -$28.00-$32.00
Union Membership after 60-days | Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K) Benefit Eligible
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventive maintenance routines to ensure proper functioning and availability of equipment, as requested
- Ability to work autonomously and responsibly with little supervision while following all safety guidelines
- Repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems as requested (bearings, electrical motors, pumps, fans, pipelines, etc.)
- Install mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or ventilation systems and conduct repairs or modifications, when necessary, in and around plating equipment and machines
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure the functionality
- Conduct general upkeep procedures as assigned (carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Work diligently along with Operations teams to ensure all equipment is tested and working in a safe and proper manner
- Report to management on activities and issues
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested and needed
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as maintenance technician – 1-year minimum
- Experience with hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Company and job-specific training will be provided as needed throughout employment
- Ability to work well and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
- Ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record
- High school diploma
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/distribution facility environment.
- Exposure to plant and warehouse environment including heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and significantly loud noise
- Exposure to moving equipment throughout the factory or warehouse
- Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety goggles, hearing protection, steel-toed work boots, safety gloves
