What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant position at CO-OP?
Clinical Assistant is responsible for the creative planning in designing and implementing behavior programming for an assigned caseload as designated by the Assistant/Clinical Director. With a focus of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, each clinical assistant shall recommend supports and strategies that focus on ways to help enrich their lives.
QUALIFICATIONS
G.E.D. Required; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
Ability to comprehend and write English at traditional Grade 12 level.
Physically capable of performing direct service duties
Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
Three years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injury, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with one-year experience.
- Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of behavioral programs.
- Conduct ongoing observations for purposes of assisting Clinical Director in completing functional assessments, determining appropriate implementation procedures in conformance with Positive Behavior Support, evaluating program efficacy and assisting with staff training.
- Assist and train staff in implementation of all behavioral/therapy programs and crisis intervention procedures.
- Assist in ongoing training of staff through Behavior Review Meetings, focusing on positive behavior support strategies to achieve success.
- Summarize relevant behavioral data for assigned individuals for all review purposes.
- Assume supervision responsibility for Program staff relative to implementation of positive behavior support/therapy programs to include training, and corrective feedback.
- Assist in the development of Individual Service Plans, and in the completion of service documentation requirements, as assigned by the Clinical Director including, but not limited to, assessments, service agreements, progress notes, quarterly, and semi-annual reviews.
- Participate in medication/psychiatric review process through data summaries, anecdotal reporting, and attendance at meetings, as assigned by Clinical Director.
- Actively participate in on-going evaluation of appropriateness of individual community placements and make recommendations as necessary.
- Assume Instructor duties as necessary, and when assigned by the Clinical Director.
- Keep Clinical Director informed of programmatic and personnel issues as they relate to delivery of Psychology services.
