Job Description
The Director of Health Services shall coordinate and supervise the Agency’s day and residential health care services. While acknowledging the medical needs of its participants, nursing services shall be integrated within the normal routines of people’s lives.

CO-OP was established in 1972 to provide community services to adults with intellectual disabilities in the greater Taunton area. Our purpose is to assist people with disabilities and others to become valued members of their communities, with opportunities for meaningful participation in areas of personal pursuit.

Qualifications
- Current Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to comprehend and write English at traditional Grade 12 level.
- Physical capabilities required to perform direct service duties designated in “Note B” under “Essential Duties”.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
- One year experience in a community health care setting; experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferable
- Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Fingerprint check.
- Willingness to become a certified MAP (Medication Administration Program) trainer.
- Coordinate the delivery of the Agency’s health care services through the development of uniform policies and procedures.
- Supervise the LPN’s and RN’s in the delivery of the Agency’s health care day and residential services.
- Insure Agency policies and procedures are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Provide initial MAP training and recertification testing to Agency staff as needed.
- Oversee medication administration policies and procedures including documentation and storage and disposal.
- Ensure coverage for day program nurses’ vacations, leaves, etc.
- Act as the resource person for any issues/concerns regarding medical information.
- Act as liaison with community medical service providers as needed.
