The 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office is located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office is committed to our community and our mission to administer justice, advocate for victims, and partner with law enforcement and citizens in this community for the deterrence and prevention of crime. The office has a staff of 225 employees comprised of attorneys, investigators, and support personnel.
Investigates Auto Theft and Attendant Crimes. This is a grant funded position. Tentative fund expiration: June 30,2026.
Based on the completed CDAC Enhanced Regional Auto Theft Prosecution Assessment (attached as a supporting report to the original application), the need for support of auto-theft investigations and prosecution of cases varies widely throughout the state but is present in all jurisdictions and based on the nature of the local crime problem (auto-theft primarily, or auto-theft and attendant-related crimes). The provision of dedicated prosecutors and investigators would allow for the concentration of resources specific to the communities and particular crimes without hampering critically needed resources in other areas (particularly persons-crimes prosecutors), with a focus on enhancing training and case investigation, agency coordination, and case prosecution.
