Academies of Math and Science Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher – Immediate Openings (2026–2027 School Year) Locations: AMS Flower AMS Desert Sky AMS Peoria Advanced Start Date: July 20, 2026 Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site Compensation Range: $48,331.25 – $54,571.89 annually (DOE) Position Summary Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is hiring Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teachers for immediate openings at three of our Phoenix-area campuses: AMS Flower, AMS Desert Sky, and AMS Peoria Advanced. These full-time positions begin July 20, 2026, for the 2026–2027 school year. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks. Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level. Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and targeted interventions. Develop students' reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. Classroom Culture & Student Support Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment. Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies. Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to continuously improve instructional practices. Contribute to school-wide initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and achievement. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and build strong partnerships with families. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or a related field; OR a valid Arizona teaching certificate in a relevant subject area; OR a minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience. Preferred: SEI Endorsement or completion of 45 hours of SEI training (preferred but not required). Additionally, candidates must: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills. Obtain or be eligible to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Pass all required background checks. Demonstrate a commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities. Exhibit strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset. Work collaboratively while maintaining high professional standards.
