Christopher Newport University’s College Of Natural And Behavioral Sciences Is Accepting Applications From Prospective Adjunct Faculty Members To Teach Individual Courses, As Needed, In The Following Areas In Spring 2026 And Beyond
Biology
Candidates for hire are required to complete a University sponsored background check.
Adjunct pay ranges from the rank of Instructor ($1,414) to Professor ($1,626) per Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE). New rates for the AY 26-27 are subject to change.
Departmental Information
The Department of Molecular Biology and Chemistry is composed of 22 faculty members and oversees the major in Cellular, Molecular and Physiological Biology under the B.S. degree program in Biology and the B.S. degree in Chemistry with majors in both Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Department is located in the $80 Million integrated science building, which includes dedicated research space for faculty and houses a vivarium, confocal microscope, real-time thermocycler, and other standard molecular biology equipment as well as over $1M of chemical instrumentation.
