CNOOC International is currently engaged in over 44 projects in 22 countries and produces ~600,000 barrels of oil per day from our international assets.
In North America, we produce over 180,000 barrels of oil per day (gross) from a diverse collection of high-quality assets located in both Canada and the United States.
In Canada, CNOOC International has ~300,000 acres in Athabasca Oil Sands region with our operated SAGD and Partial Upgrading project at Long Lake, with production capacity of 85,000 barrels of bitumen a day, located in Northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray. We also have interest in several other oil sands projects, including interests in a producing SAGD project at Hangingstone (operated by Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation) and in Syncrude’s oil sands mining upgrading facility. In addition to our Canadian oil sands business, we have ~300,000 acres of shale gas leases in Northeast British Columbia, an operated natural gas power station in Balzac, Alberta, and interest in a wind farm in Southern Alberta. With offices at all operated asset field locations and in Houston, Calgary is the regional management center for all North American Operations.
In the United States, CNOOC International holds a non-operated working interest in approximately 143,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford (South Texas) and 77,000 net acres in the Powder River Basin (Wyoming). These are unconventional shale oil and gas assets. Most of our production is operated by partners, including INEOS Energy US Onshore, Crescent Energy, Devon Energy, and Continental Resources.
Our offshore interests in the US Gulf of Mexico include Appomattox project operated by Shell and Stampede project operated by Hess.

Your Background
- 8 to 10 years experience working as a lease and property administration analyst for US based oil and gas companies
- Experience working Texas and the Rocky Mountain Regions, with specific experience working the Eagle Ford in South Texas and the Powder River Basin in Wyoming a plus (but not a requirement)
- Experience working with Western US Federal Units including unit participating areas and unit expansions and contractions
- Understanding of and experience working with division orders and ability to calculate unit and well working and net revenue interests
- Experience working in various land management systems including ability to update and make changes to various lease, agreement and contract records in such systems; experience with PakLand system (i.e. LandVantage) a plus (not a requirement)
- Experience and ability to work with other functions such as Accounting, Finance, Tax and Audit departments
- Ability to work individually and with teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
Your Role with Our Team
- Maintain and update all current oil and gas lease files and records
- Maintain and update all contract and agreement files and records
- Manage, monitor and report all expiring and at risk acreage
- Coordinate the approval and payment of all lease rentals, lease renewal and lease extension payments
- Coordinate the preparation, execution and filing of all release and partial release of oil and gas leases
- Maintain and update all correspondence and records associated with federal oil and gas leases
- Maintain and update all correspondence and records associated with federal units
- Generate various reports of data and information from land system such as acreage expirations, at risk acreage, acreage by prospect or designated project area, acreage by county, acreage by unit, etc.
- Research and provide back up information associated with internal and external audit requests
- Create and maintain electronic and hard copy files and folders
- Coordinate and manage all changes to working and net revenue interests in wells
- Coordinate and manage all changes to leases and related contracts, agreements and files
- Manage contract personnel as needed
- Coordinate and oversee receipt, processing and return of AFEs
- Manage and maintain all related data and information associated with new well, workover, facility, P&A and other AFEs
- Manage and maintain all old and new A&D files
- Coordinate and manage all operator changes; manage and update operator summary spreadsheet and related files
- Conduct research as necessary associated with leases, contracts and agreements
- Research and retrieve various documents and agreements from files as requested by management and other departments such as Legal, Audit, etc.
- Interact with other departments on a daily basis
