Role: Quality Inspector
Reports To: Safety & Quality Manager
Position Summary:
The Quality Technician plays an important role in the company's quality assurance program within the pre- and post-production process, supporting the integrity and accuracy of all manufactured parts, with the core responsibility of conducting a First Article Inspection (FAI) through the program development of inspection vision systems and ensuring that all products meet company standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Roaming in process inspection using optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, gage pins, thread gages, surface profilometer, vision systems, microscope, and other equipment as needed.
- Develop programs for the Keyence Vision & Oasis Inspection System to ensure dimensional specifications are met for the First Article Inspection (FAI). Will provide software training.
- Work closely with the Quality & Safety Manager, communicating inspection results that require resolution from quality issues.
- Assist in streamlining the job setup process by picking the gage requirements ahead of time for the next scheduled work order.
- Put away and organize all gages used from completed work order to be utilized on future job setups.
- Balloon drawings through the High-QA software in support of the pre-production process planning. Will provide software training.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential areas for quality assurance improvements and recommending enhancements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in various computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Capable of quickly learning new technologies and software to meet business needs and challenges efficiently.
- Ability to independently initiate and manage tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-motivation skills.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED, Quality Control Certification as a strong preference
- 1-3 years of Quality Control experience in a metal forming, stamping, medical, CNC, or automotive industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrates time management skills
- Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and teach others.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business principles and technical procedures.
- Ability to write basic reports.
- Bi-lingual “Spanish-English” (Optional)
