Powder Coating Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic fast paced role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal products, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and adherence to safety standards. Duties

• Prepare metal components by cleaning, masking, and surface preparation to ensure optimal coating adhesion
• Operate powder coating equipment, including spray booths, airless paint sprayers, and curing ovens, following safety protocols
• Apply powder coatings accurately using hand tools, power tools, and automated systems to achieve consistent coverage
• Monitor coating thickness and finish quality using precision measuring instruments and visual inspections
• Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting mechanical issues
• Handle materials safely with forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment to move parts throughout the production process
• Conduct auto body repair techniques when necessary to correct surface imperfections before coating

Requirements

• Proven experience with industrial or auto body painting, powder coating or related manufacturing processes
• Mechanical knowledge of spray equipment, curing ovens, welding tools, and fabrication machinery
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Familiarity with materials handling procedures within a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Basic math skills for measuring coatings and calculating coverage areas
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
• Experience with precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to industrial painting and materials handling
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
