Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. We have a small lathe department of 3 machines. 2, 2 axis lathes and 1, 2 spindle lathe with y axis and milling capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC lathe programs to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and measurement will ensure that production meets the highest quality standards. CNC MFG is an AS9100 aerospace supplier.
Duties
- Develop, write, and modify CNC lathe programs using Fanuc controls to produce complex parts with precision.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Work in compliance with the AS9100 standard of manufacturing.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as MasterCam to create or review part models and tooling layouts.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Set up CNC lathes by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters; perform machine calibration using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ensure all machining operations adhere to safety protocols while maintaining high standards of quality control through precise measurement and inspection techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience programming CNC lathes with Fanuc controls as well as Haas in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as MasterCam for designing parts and tooling.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles for interpreting blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups, machining processes, and machine maintenance.
- Familiarity with bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read schematics, schematics diagrams, and technical drawings confidently.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to streamline production workflows.
