CNC Programmer/Machinist

Objectives:

Work as your own supervisor in individual cells to complete tasks on time and with expected quality. Candidate will work in the Machining department by managing the programming, set up, and completion of individual part. They are responsible for their own area and machines for tooling, programming, consumables and profitabilty. Candidate will strive for on time completion of projects by managing their own programs, time on jobs, machines, tooling, and other resources. Candidate will use an MRP system to work directly with Project Managers and other team members to layout and track projects through the shop ensuring on time deliveries within budgeted time and hours. Maintain a positive company culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Time management of workload to make parts according to budget and schedule

2. Implement agreed production schedule daily, weekly and monthly in the department

3. Work within the established MRP system to track costs and time spent on jobs

4. Coordinates activities by scheduling own work assignments, setting priorities to agreed schedule, completing work to ensure daily production and protocols are met

5. Evaluate and verify performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques ensuring quality

6. Corroborate with Engineering to have a strong relationship and understanding of the manufacturing requirements when part designs are ready for tooling phase.

7. Make recommendations to engineering on issues related to the manufacturability of design and help with the scope of hours on projects.

8. Review with the Planning and Scheduling Manager to adjust the schedule where needed

9. Execute the maintenance program in their cell.

10. Work with vendors to purchase tooling and consumables while staying on budget.

11. Program machines to achieve maximum efficiency and best use of tooling

12. Work with Project Managers to understand the scope of work and provide feedback for hours and technical capabilities on projects

13. Maintain quality and project expectations.

14. Participate in the process of Ongoing Improvement to identify policies, processes, and procedures that contribute to improve the operations and profitability of the Company.

Required skills and qualifications:

* ABILITY TO PROGRAM CNC MACHINE LATHES AND MILLS

We are looking for a journeyman machinist who is capable of running their own cell with enough experience to motivate themselves and manage their area.
