Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Designer/Programmer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design innovative components using advanced CAD software and develop efficient CNC programs to streamline our production processes. - Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks to support product development and manufacturing.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting systems, mills, turning centers, and turret punch presses to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot programming issues, refine designs, and improve workflow in a metal fabrication setting.
- Review and validate designs for manufacturability, material selection, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain documentation of designs, programs, and revisions in accordance with company standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends in CAD/CAM software and CNC machining technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (3 years) as a Designer/Programmer with strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Expertise in programming CNC equipment, including lasers, mills, turning centers, and turret punches.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in a metal fabrication or machining environment.
- Familiarity with additional CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
