What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cannabis Cultivation Technician position at CNA Stores Inc?
Under the supervision of the Cultivation Manager or department lead, the Cultivation Technician will perform manual labor to assist in the upkeep, stocking, and fulfillment of growing cannabis, including, but not limited to; watering, feeding, pruning, cloning, cleaning, and transplanting. Attention to detail is extremely important in this role. The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a tightly controlled, state-regulated system and timelines. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that assigned production tasks are performed correctly and on schedule, and that company and state-compliance standards are maintained at all times. Day 7 am - 3:30pm. Compensation is $18.00 - $20/hour.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tend to the plants including watering, re-potting, training, and movement of plant material and green waste.
- Report to management any event or condition that might affect plant growth and development.
- Perform tasks related to sanitation, decontamination, propagation, transplantation, harvest, trimming, etc. in a highly productive and efficient manner to maximize yield.
- Monitor plants for pests and other threats with a keen eye to spot issues before they become a problem.
- Wash and sanitize all equipment. Scout all equipment, ensuring all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease.
- Label plants and ensure that an accurate inventory is maintained consistently.
- Verify the proper documentation has been completed with accurate information for activities performed.
- Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed.
- Assist in harvesting plant material on schedule.
- Always adhere to all safety policies and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Comply with industry compliance standards set forth by the state of Massachusetts.

Employment Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must pass a comprehensive background check annually to ensure compliance within Cannabis Control Commission and CNS Stores set regulations.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to business needs.
- Must be comfortable with a high level of responsibility.
- Have or be willing to acquire knowledge of cannabis products and processing techniques.
- Previous experience in a hands-on environment with high attention to detail preferred.
