Position: Janitor - EVS
Location: Oxnard, CA
Schedule:2nd shift: 3pm to 11:30pm Flexibility and weekends as business needs require
Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule- Temp to Hire
Classification: Non-Exempt (Salary)
Pay Range: $18.75-19.00
CMSP is hiring a reliable and dedicated Janitor to the City of Oxnard. This role is essential in keeping the facility clean, safe, and welcoming for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize common areas, hallways, and restrooms
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Restock restroom supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of break rooms and shared spaces
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain cleaning equipment
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to management
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred (not required)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must be able to pass standard onboarding requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods during the shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and vacuuming
- Ability to use standard janitorial equipment such as mops, vacuums, cleaning tools, and supply carts
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and follow safety procedures
- Ability to move throughout the facility, including hallways, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
Work Environment
- Indoor janitorial environment within a municipal facility
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and typical cleaning materials
- Work may involve wet floors, cleaning agents, and moderate noise from equipment
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
