Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity.
• Administer medication accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability.
• Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, utilizing behavior management techniques to promote calmness and safety.
• Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to prevent injury and maintain comfort.
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans while maintaining cleanliness in meal areas.
• Engage residents in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and enhance quality of life.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and shared spaces.
• Document observations, incidents, and care provided accurately in EMR systems for ongoing care planning.
• Drive residents safely to appointments or community activities when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living/nursing home settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and behavior management techniques.
• Certification or training in first aid is required; CPR certification is a plus.
• Experience operating Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and protocols.
• Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities; clean driving record preferred.
