What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Counter Associate position at CMP Attachments?
CMP Attachments is seeking a Parts Counter Associate to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in keeping production running efficiently while also supporting customers and field techs by diagnosing part-related issues and coordinating replacements. If you're organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable troubleshooting with customers, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide phone and email support to customers and dealers with part inquiries
- Pull and distribute parts and supplies for manufacturing teams as needed
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies
- Collaborate with purchasing and production leads to forecast material needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts room and storage areas
- Assist in diagnosing part-related issues in the field, providing guidance or replacement options to customers
- Document common field issues and communicate patterns to engineering or production leads
- Packaging and labeling shipments for UPS and SpeeDee daily
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory management, parts room, or warehouse operations preferred
- Operate forklift for loading and transit of parts
- Customer service experience or direct support role preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to understand equipment functions and components
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and email communications
- Ability to read and interpret part numbers, technical documents, and equipment diagrams
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and moving materials as needed
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
