Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Supervisor to lead our quality assurance team. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance function within the manufacturing environment, providing strategic direction and leadership to QA Leads and inspectors to ensure all products and materials consistently meet customer requirements and company quality standards. This role drives a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization by developing and implementing robust quality systems, managing cross-functional relationships, and partnering with senior management on quality initiatives and corrective action programs. The Quality Supervisor serves as the primary quality authority on the production floor, making high-level disposition decisions, leading root cause investigations, and ensuring full compliance with the company quality policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, develop, and mentor QA Leads and inspectors, including performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Oversee and enforce quality standards for all products, packaging, and materials throughout the manufacturing process.
- Serve as the senior quality decision-maker for defect disposition, escalations, and holds on finished goods prior to shipment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures, work instructions, and inspection standards in alignment with company and customer requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal, vendor, and customer quality issues.
- Plan and manage AQL inspection programs and ensure technical drawings and specifications are properly applied.
- Design and oversee quality training programs for QA Leads, inspectors, and production personnel.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying systemic quality gaps and leading cross-functional improvement projects.
- Manage the retention and archiving program for production samples, ensuring proper scrap, retention, and audit compliance.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Customer Service to resolve quality issues at allstages of the supply chain.
- Compile, analyze, and present quality performance data, metrics, and trend reports to management on a regular basis.
- Monitor and ensure department adherence to all safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and third-party quality assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3 years in a Quality role.
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing quality function.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems, AQL standards, and inspection methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools (SPC, CAPA, FMEA, 8D, etc.).
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, Fridays as needed
