Overview of the Role

The Sales Executive will help the Company achieve substantial revenue and profit growth by leading and overseeing the Company’s sales activities, including helping to develop and implement the sales and marketing strategies, training and supporting others within the department, and working cohesively and effectively with other department leaders and senior management. This role is a hands-on, cross-functional position suited for an experienced and skilled professional, a detail-oriented problem-solver, and one who can both sell and markedly lead and improve the performance of others within the sales department. 

 

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Executives will be responsible for the following:

 

Individual Sales

  • Serve as the Company’s lead SALESPERSON, HUNTER, and CLOSER.
  • Continuously develop and maintain an individual pipeline.
  • Build and grow a base of key targeted accounts.

 

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, train, and mentor a team of sales and support staff to maximize performance and achieve sales and profit goals and other performance expectations.
  • Ensure proper training and the timely and effective use of all digital tools at the department’s disposal, including, among others, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Syspro (ERP).
  • Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to provide feedback, set objectives, and monitor progress.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new sales talent, and identify training and development needs for the entire team.
  • Cultivate an accountable and motivating sales environment by providing clear expectations and regular communication.

 

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients.
  • Emphasize and champion a value-based selling approach that focuses on developing trust and confidence and offering solutions to customer “pain points”  rather than competing on price.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans in concert with senior management to expand the customer base and achieve company revenue targets.
  • Serve as an expert to assist the team in closing key deals.
  • Analyze sales data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and forecast future sales to inform strategy and enable the Company to make data-driven decisions.
  • Occasionally attend industry events and travel to customer sites to sell, close, and nurture client relationships.

 

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

·       Work with the marketing, tech, and operations teams to maximize digital tools and design and deploy automated workflows and other revenue-generating processes to increase the Sales department’s efficiency, effectiveness, and results.

  • Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure alignment between sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide regular feedback from customer interactions to the marketing and product teams to help refine campaigns and product offerings.
  • Report both team and individual sales performance, progress, and market insights to senior management on a regular basis.

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Absolute professionalism across all business and interpersonal aspects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience and Sales Expertise:

Proven track record of success in both individual sales and sales leadership roles, with a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.  (HUNTER, CLOSER, LEADER) Deep experience and a fundamental understanding of the entire sales process, from lead generation to close.

  • Analytical Mindset: 

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including comfort with data manipulation in spreadsheets and a deep understanding of tracking KPIs.

  • Communication Skills: 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (especially phone skills!) for selling, negotiating, collaborating, training, and presenting to diverse teams and varying audiences.

  • Platform/Software Knowledge and Skills

Proficiency with CRMs, ERPs, and other digital sales tools. Ideally, experience with HubSpot, Syspro, and ZoomInfo. Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Business acumen: 

A solid understanding of B2B sales processes, pipeline development and management, and the broader customer lifecycle.

  • Growth mindset: 

An eagerness to learn new products and markets and adapt to industry trends and new technologies – and to play an essential role in growing the Company’s revenues and profits.
