Important: This is a heavy civil/highway estimating position. Candidates whose experience is primarily residential or vertical commercial construction without significant heavy civil infrastructure experience may not be a fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimates for complex heavy civil, highway, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop costs for labor, equipment, materials, crews, and subcontractors.
- Prepare competitive estimates for earthwork, grading, drainage, underground utilities, concrete, structures, bridges, and roadway construction.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Chief Estimator, project managers, engineers, and field operations teams to develop competitive bid strategies.
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, cost exposures, and opportunities.
- Lead assigned bids and support the development of junior estimators.
- 5 years of heavy civil or heavy highway construction estimating experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent heavy highway estimating experience will be considered.
- Strong experience estimating roadway, highway, earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, bridges, structures, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- GDOT estimating experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Bluebeam strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret civil construction plans, specifications, bid documents, and technical drawings.
- Experience leading complex bids and coordinating with operations teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other estimators.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
