What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at CME Corp?

CME’s Inventory Control department is looking to add an Inventory Control Specialist to the team. This person will play a key role in improving inventory control processes, inventory accuracy and workflow speed by working closely with our Branches and Remote Service Center locations Nationwide. This position will also require occasional travel throughout the country and will report to the Inventory Control Manager
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for end to end receiving functions and inventory control in assigned remote warehouse locations.
- Establish and maintain communication channels with remote 3PL warehouse partners and embedded DTS coordinators.
- Review vendor pack lists and receive appropriate items into ERP assigning to correct stocking locations for specific warehouse.
- Follow up with remote warehouse and DTS coordinator regarding any questions of inbound shipments.
- Generate corresponding order pick lists and provide them to the appropriate project management team members and DTS coordinators.
- Maintain frequent communication with Project Management, Customer Service, Warehouse and DTS teams.
- Troubleshoot Inventory issues and resolve discrepancies.
- Document and coordinate product returns and vendor credits (RMA’s).
- Work with on-site DTS Installer to maintain proper inventory control and prepare for semi-annual or annual physical inventories.
- Will require occasional travel to assist with warehouse set-up, inventory control work and physical inventory execution.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 3 years of warehouse management and/or inventory control experience working within an ERP.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management / related field or APICS certification is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft suite of products (advanced experience in Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work in a variety of warehouse environments and conditions periodically
- Ability to participate in occasional projects requiring overnight stays away.
