Job Description: The Program Manager is responsible for managing the implementing program work and ensuring necessary resources are dedicated to meeting program goals. This role is responsible for the efficiency and profitability of programs while managing a team of energy professionals and possibly partner companies (subcontractors), to provide implementation services for residential, multi-family and/or business customer energy efficiency programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES Work closely with direct reports, clients and client program managers in the effective management of the project and/or programs. Manage, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff is performing effectively and at their highest potential to achieve program and company organizational goals. This includes interviewing, planning, assigning, completing performance evaluations, coaching, and directing work. Manage and collaborate with other departments to ensure understanding of all processes and procedures to drive program success. Implement full-scale program plan responsibilities: Identify, set, communicate and manage project and program dependencies, critical path, program expectations, tasks and responsibilities with team members and clients in a timely and clear fashion. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with the program team, escalate issues immediately necessary. Assist in the estimation of resources and participants needed to achieve program goals. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of work completed by staff and contractors. Make recommendations related to staff/contractor changes when appropriate. Assist with the preparation of required monthly and annual program reports. Prepare and submit weekly budget and production reports to assist in tracking goal achievement set to budget. Disseminate program success criteria to involved parties throughout program life cycle. Develop and manage key client relationships to successfully launch and manage programs. Ensure external communication activities and messaging are accurate and consistent. Maintain operations manual with updates as required. Maintain inventory balances to ensure supplies are available to field technicians as needed. Provide accounting with monthly inventory balances and value by item that are present in storage and in field technician's possession. Ensure work is performed in accordance with stated program guidelines and in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures. Maintain same day or next business day turn around for resolution of customer service issues. Monitor measures recommended to ensure the most cost effective measures are installed. Manage subcontractors to ensure delivery of completed work within 30 days and quality of installations. Ensure audits are completed timely in order to complete necessary work and invoice by the end of each program year. Ensure all BPI certifications required by the contract are met and kept current for field technicians. Stay current on local codes that affect the installation of program measures or performance of energy audits. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICTIONS Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an industry related field. 4-6 years’ prior supervisory experience preferred. 4-6 years’ energy industry experience preferred. BPI Building Analyst and Envelope certifications preferred. Other certifications may be required by program and client guidelines. Strong knowledge of building science techniques to conserve energy and water. Hands-on experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise, analyze, manage time, set priorities, make decisions, manage conflict, resolve disputes, and work constructively as part of a team. Strong supervision skills to lead, direct, coach and mentor. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication, both verbal and written, and relationship-building skills. Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and ethics. Strong attention to detail while maintaining accurate documentation. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change when needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Proven ability to meet objectives. Knowledge of industry best practices. Ability to travel to both company offices and work with in the field as required. Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment. Ability to view computer screens for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching within the office environment. Light work: ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds offorce frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
