Position: Service Parts Associate

Classification: Non-exempt

Summary/Objective

The Service Department Parts Specialist is an integral role responsible for the timely acquisition of HVAC equipment and part information, pricing, and availability from a number of direct and indirect HVAC/R and Building Automation Manufacturers, Distributors, Wholesalers, and Vendors.

Essential Functions

• Maintain cost effective replacement part solutions for a wide range of customers including commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, and other types of facilities in the Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware area.
• Research of aged equipment to ensure proper part replacement.
• Acquisition of Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and specification sheets for equipment.
• Part Identification thru field placed calls as well as calls from our Service Sales Account Executives for part and equipment replacement.
• Working with and maintaining relationships with local vendors, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and trends in the Building Controls, and HVAC/R industry.
• Quotation of parts direct to customers.
• Purchasing of parts and equipment and shipping direct to customer or field personnel.
• Processing equipment and part warranties and returns for credit.
• Availability after hours and on weekends for emergency part acquisition. (Occasional)
• The ability to occasionally lift more than 50lbs
• Accepting delivery of materials, and staging of parts and equipment for upcoming projects.
• Reporting delivery of parts to the Field Mechanical Foreman, Field Controls Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
• Maintaining stock of critical Building Automation Controls parts.
• Maintaining Service Department purchased tools, lifting equipment, and any other field device tools owned by CM3.

Any additional duties which may be assigned by the Director of Service Operations

Required Knowledge / Background Experience

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook are required.
• Familiarity with work order management software and purchase order systems required.
• Must have courteous phone manners and be articulate and clear when speaking on the phone.
• Customer service experience is required.
• HVAC /R business knowledge is required.
• Prior part counter experience preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in a Warehouse environment that may contain dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane and solvents; may also involves driving company owned vehicles.

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.
• Operation of forklift and stake body truck
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. This job also requires the use of machines and hand tools necessary for warehouse work.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Travel

Travel required as needed for Warehouse schedule and deliveries.

Required Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3 or more years previous warehouse or parts experience preferred
• Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
• Dependable and Reliable
• Customer Service
• Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required

Preferred Education And Experience

• OSHA safety training.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Criminal Background Check, PA Child Welfare clearance and FBI fingerprinting clearance required
