PROJECT ENGINEER
CM Corp is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer for an on-site position in Los Angeles, CA. This role will support ground-up and tenant improvement commercial projects and is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in construction project management.
The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to support all phases of construction, from pre-construction through project closeout. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong communication with the project team.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with daily project operations.
- Support pre-construction efforts including take-offs, estimates, and document review.
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Maintain and organize project documentation, logs, and files.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution of work.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Track project progress and help ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Attend project meetings and take detailed notes for internal and external distribution.
- Help ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and all applicable codes.
- Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor buyout.
- Support project closeout, including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover packages.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of construction experience (internship experience counts).
- Basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on commercial construction projects (multi-family, retail, restaurant).
- Exposure to ground-up construction.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project or scheduling tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
