Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Sycamore, IL. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the financial operations of a thriving organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting functions, manage financial reporting processes, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Your expertise will drive financial integrity and support the organization’s growth objectives through meticulous analysis and effective leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily accounting functions: general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
- Lead financial planning, annual budgeting, and long-term forecasting processes.
- Build and maintain multi-scenario financial models.
- Provide timely analysis of budget variances, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Consolidate financial results across different business units and real estate holdings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Prepare KPI dashboards and operational performance reports.
- Partner with leadership to support capital allocation, business planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with tax filings, audits, compliance, and external reporting requirements.
- Streamline accounting processes and evaluate technology/tools to improve efficiency.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience (multi-entity preferred)
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong communication and analytical skills
Preferred
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience in real estate, investment management, or diversified holdings
- Supervisory or leadership experience
