Build Our Next Ecommerce Platform—and Own Its Continued Success

CM Almy is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Platform & Operations Manager to lead the migration of our legacy ecommerce system to BigCommerce and manage the platform following launch.

This is a long-term position, not a temporary migration assignment. Initially, you will focus on transforming complex legacy product data, preparing digital assets, and building a scalable BigCommerce catalog. After launch, you will serve as the primary owner of our ecommerce platform—maintaining catalog quality, improving the customer experience, supporting integrations, and helping the site grow.

Our product catalog has evolved over many years and includes customized products, variants, bundles, relationships, and business rules that do not always fit standard ecommerce models. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complicated catalog problems and wants the opportunity to shape and manage a modern ecommerce operation.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading or implementing complex ecommerce migrations and will be comfortable working across both technical data transformation and visual asset preparation tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement product data transformation processes for migration into BigCommerce
  • Re-architect product definitions, categories, variants, bundles, and product relationships
  • Map legacy database structures into scalable BigCommerce compatible catalog models
  • Develop repeatable workflows for catalog transformation and asset preparation, import/export processes, and validation procedures
  • Clean, normalize, and restructure large product datasets
  • Work alongside internal SQL/database resources responsible for source system analysis and database mapping and migration strategy
  • Handle ecommerce image transformation workflows including cropping, resizing, color correction, format optimization, and asset organization
  • Test and verify migrated product data within BigCommerce
  • Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process improvement
  • Help establish scalable catalog management practices for future growth

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with complex ecommerce platform migrations
  • Strong understanding of BigCommerce API capabilities and catalog architecture
  • Experience with product taxonomy and catalog modeling
  • Experience with data transformation and ETL-style workflows
  • Familiarity with CSV, JSON, API-based imports, and data synchronization processes
  • Experience modernizing or restructuring legacy ecommerce systems
  • Experience with ecommerce image processing and digital asset workflows
  • Ability to work with inconsistent, incomplete, or poorly structured legacy data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • ERP or PIM integrations
  • Middleware or migration tooling
  • Python, Node.js, or similar scripting for transformation workflows
  • Image automation workflows
  • Ecommerce data architecture
  • High-SKU or highly customized product catalogs

Application Requirements

Please include the following with your application:

  • Examples of ecommerce migration projects you personally led or implemented
  • Examples of product data restructuring or catalog normalization work
  • Details on how you handled legacy data transformation challenges
  • Your role in image processing or digital asset preparation workflows
  • Any BigCommerce API, integration, or migration tooling experience
