Tax Preparer

Clymer Hall and Davis, located in Fairbanks, Alaska is seeking a seasonal tax preparer for the 2027 filing season (2026 tax year) and beyond. This position is for in-office work January to April 15th each year, no remote work offered, tax preparation experience required.

We have been serving the Fairbanks community since 1977!

We are looking for a preparer with a minimum of 3 years of tax experience, EA preferred. Experience with Drake software is a plus. An individual having prior experience at HR Block, Liberty Tax or other high paced tax preparation environment would fit in well.

We will provide a round-trip flight, temporary housing, and transportation for an out of state hire.

Guaranteed minimum $35K for first 100-day tax season. $55-60K typical by 3rd season.

Busy office during the tax season with preparers preparing 400 returns each. We would prefer an individual planning to return year after year. Must be friendly, team oriented, and willing to work long hours and most days of the week during the 100-day tax season.

*Responsibilities*

* Prepare and review tax documents for individual or small business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.

* Gather financial information, input data into tax software, and perform calculations to determine tax liabilities or refunds.

* Identify eligible deductions, credits, and opportunities to minimize tax burden while maintaining client confidentiality.

* Communicate with clients to collect supporting documents and explain tax results in clear terms.

*Maintain current continuing education requirements.

Job Type: Seasonal, permanent

Pay: $35,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types: Commission & Hourly pay
