As a Summer Associate in Los Angeles, you’ll work alongside attorneys who handle some of the most complex insurance coverage disputes in the region. Our team represents major domestic and international insurers in high-value litigation and works across sectors that are central to the firm, including aviation, marine, and a wide range of specialty insurance lines.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to insurance products that play a key role in the Southern California economy, including directors' and officers' liability, media liability, energy liability, financial lines, construction programs, facultative reinsurance, general liability, first-party property, and specialty policies such as concert cancellation, accident and health, and travel insurance. Our Los Angeles lawyers also play a significant role in the firm’s global aviation and marine practices, advising on virtually every major aviation and aerospace matter and contributing to the world’s largest marine practice.
In addition to insurance coverage work, you’ll see how our team defends companies in product liability and other high-exposure commercial disputes. From legal research and drafting to strategy discussions and case preparation, you’ll be involved in meaningful, substantive work that builds the foundation for a strong litigation career.

Ideal candidates are those interested in litigation and eager to begin their career at Clyde & Co in Los Angeles, in addition to meeting the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a J.D. program with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Proven academic and professional record
- Participation in law journal, moot court, leadership roles, or other extracurricular activities is advantageous
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients and colleagues
- An inclusive mindset and openness to diverse perspectives
- Ability to commit to a minimum of nine weeks with the firm as a summer associate
