Job Summary

A freezer forklift operator’s job functions are related to loading and unloading processes as well as sorting and systematic handling of product. The forklift operator is also accountable for checking lifts prior to usage and partaking in training for license renewal. The requirement of forklift operators is essential in loading docks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Loading product on to the forklift in a systematic procedure.

2. Following proper handling procedure of all products.

3. Conducting regular inspections of the forklift to ensure its safety and ability of performing the operations.

4. Maintaining and working in accord with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms (OSHA).

5. Verifying the loaded material with the order form given.

6. Coordinating work with the shipping clerk staff and efficiently carrying out the orders of the supervisor.

7. Performing other duties as needed.

Job Qualifications

1. High school graduate or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution with some related experience preferred but not required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Stand up Forklift experience preferred.
3. Forklift certification preferred. 
4. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
5. Ability to work overtime and weekends occasionally as required.
6. Must have a solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
7. Ability to multitask, prioritize and change direction mid-stream.
8. Ability to efficiently coordinate work with co-workers and take orders from superiors.
9. Awareness of the safety and official procedures for handling good and supplies.
10. Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
11. Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills are required
12. High degree of attention to detail required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
13. Be able to work in cold environment.
14. Forklift certification per OSHA standards

Salary : $20 - $21
