Summary: The role of the Dispatcher is to coordinate the logistics of moving freight between carriers and shippers and verify the successful completion of the logistical move.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize load boards and other logistical software to assist in daily responsibilities
- Negotiate rates with potential carriers
- Track shipments and ensure successful completion of deliveries
- Point of contact for carrier who is covering their designated loads
- Strategize in finding and working through loads for potential carriers
- Ensure proper paperwork is completed and safety compliances are met
- Understand current and trending rates
- Understand margin and profitability
- Quickly problem solve and provide outstanding customer service and solutions
Qualifications:
- Be able to work under pressure, multitask and keep accurate records.
- A high attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent and effective communication and negotiating skills
- Problem Solving skills
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management
- Strong sense of integrity, focus, and initiative.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
