Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following standardized recipes and menu specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and adapting recipes to meet dietary needs and preferences.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Support food presentation by slicing, portioning, garnishing, and plating dishes attractively.
- Clean workstations, utensils, appliances, and kitchen areas regularly to promote a safe and sanitary environment.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery during busy service periods.
Qualifications
- experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cook, dietary aide, or catering assistant is preferred but am open to training the right candidate!
- knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments is helpful but can also be learned as you go,
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
