Job Overview
Club Z! Tutoring of Falls Church is seeking a qualified tutor to provide one-on-one middle school writing support in a local library setting during the summer. This role focuses on individualized (1 to 1) writing support, helping students strengthen organization, grammar, and overall writing skills in a supportive environment.
Schedule Requirement
- 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Two days per week (consistent schedule)
- Summer position with potential for continuation
Duties
- Provide one-on-one (1 to 1) writing support to a middle school student
- Help improve writing structure, grammar, clarity, and organization
- Support summer learning and skill recovery
- Follow individualized learning goals
- Communicate professionally with families and the Club Z! office
- Submit brief session notes after each session
- Maintain professionalism, reliability, and consistency
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Experience working with children in any of the following settings:
- Tutoring (private, school-based, or learning center)
- Teaching or former teaching experience
- College students pursuing education or related fields
- Summer camps, youth programs, or childcare settings
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to confidently support middle school writing
- Professional demeanor and reliability
- Must be able to pass a background check
