Science Tutor – Part-Time | $23/Hour | Falls Church

Love science and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts?

Club Z! Tutoring of Falls Church is seeking dependable, engaging Science Tutors to provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring to students in their homes throughout the Falls Church area.

We are especially interested in tutors with experience in Biology, but candidates who can support additional middle and high school science courses are encouraged to apply.

This position is ideal for science majors, aspiring teachers, current or former educators, graduate students, healthcare or STEM professionals, and experienced tutors looking for flexible part-time work.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one, in-person science tutoring
• Help students understand difficult concepts and strengthen foundational skills
• Support homework, quizzes, tests, projects, and exam preparation
• Help students build confidence and develop stronger study habits
• Adapt explanations and strategies to each student's learning needs
• Communicate professionally with families and the Club Z! office
• Submit brief session notes after each tutoring session

Current Science Needs

We are currently seeking tutors comfortable supporting one or more of the following:

• Biology
• Honors Biology
• Environmental Science
• Earth Science
• General Science
• Life Science
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Middle School Science
• AP-level science courses are a plus

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong academic background in science, education, STEM, healthcare, or a related field
• Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth experience preferred
• Ability to confidently tutor at least one middle or high school science subject
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to students' homes in the Falls Church area
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check

Compensation & Schedule

• $23 per hour
• Flexible, part-time scheduling
• Most tutoring sessions occur after school, evenings, and weekends
• Consistent student assignments may be available
