What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Club Sandwich?
Club Sandwich in Tivoli, NY is seeking line cooks to join our team!
We are a fun & fast-paced counter-service operation with fresh food made to order. We also offer a small selection of baked goods, grocery staples, and high-quality beverages.
The ideal candidate has experience cooking, and thoroughly understands the basics of working in a clean & respectful kitchen. You will be responsible for some prep as well as cooking on the line during service. There are multiple shift times, but expect morning through afternoon hours. Be home by dinnertime!
For the right candidate, there is opportunity for growth into a managerial role. While we have a popular breakfast & lunch menu, we are looking to expand & offer rotating specials, catering & more prepared food. Someone who can offer collaboration & input in these areas is welcome!
LINE COOK RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Preparing menu items consistently and efficiently according to standards and recipes set by management
- Completing prep that is needed for the day
- Maintaining a clean and safe work station, in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assisting with overall organization and cleanliness of the kitchen
- Practicing respectful & thorough communication with you coworkers, management and customers
QUALIFICATIONS REQUESTED:
- Previous experience with processional cooking, preferably in a restaurant environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of food safety standards and best practices for food handling, ServSafe certification is a plus
- Good interpersonal communication skills. An ability to accept & give constructive feedback in a professional manner
- Ability to regularly stand for extended periods & lift up to 50 lbs
SCHEDULING AND AVAILABILITY:
- You are ideally available 3-5 days a week with a regular schedule
- A full work day is from 7:30/8a-4:30/5p, but staggered shift in & out times are available
