Accounting Manager

The Sales Accounting Manager will be responsible for the full accounting and control of all Travel Agencies and indirect clients, network maintenance, and commission structure support. The position will also be responsible for managing the group accountant and all the accounting/payments/receivables of the Group process. The position will be responsible for providing the monthly forecast to the Treasury department based on payment contract grid for all indirect clients. The position is a support position for various departments in the company – Sales, Contact Center, Revenue Management. The position is responsible for researching and producing ideas on improving processes within the organization. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

Network maintenance

• Set up new agencies, and ensure appropriate documentation exists.
• Engage partnership with IATA to monitor validity of Travel agencies
• Set up and maintain all commission structures for travel agencies (including promotional commissions); liaison with Sales director or VP for any exceptions.
• Process all address changes for Travel Agents

Refunds

• Responsible for processing all refunds within the company
• Manage refund section of credit card reconciliation. Ensuring proper adjustments, and accurate and timely adjustments.

Receivables of Travel Agencies and groups

• Manage Group Accountant – with payments, commissions, refunds etc. Ensure that policies are being maintained and elevated for alerting payments
• Manage the aging of groups – calculating monthly provision of bad debt to be recorded; follow up on payments and provide monthly status report
• Be responsible for setting up process for invoicing and payment of American Airlines in Turks. Follow up with payments
• Be responsible for the posting of payments for ITA based on contract.

Treasury

• Create, update and maintain, group payment grid report to assist Treasury in the cash forecasting
• Monitor the cash forecasting to highlight shortcomings, overages and timing.

Miscellaneous

• Assist with customer support by sending emails to Sales Accounting and assisting Travel Agents with their needs.
• Revamping the process to automate and improve where necessary
• Provide useful beneficial reports /dashboards for senior management for quick visibility of status
• Play crucial role in internal control for sales.

Education and Experience

• Accounting degree recommended but not mandatory
• Minimum of 7 years of experience working with travel agents and clients.
• Management experience necessary – to be able to lead, motivate and improve team.
• Curious mind – to always be learning and improving
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
