IT Support Technician
Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) serves the communities of Central Louisiana through five campuses—Alexandria Main Campus, Huey P. Long Campus (Winnfield), Ferriday Campus, Rod Brady Campus (Jena), and Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus (Cottonport)—as well as multiple correctional instructional sites. Position is domiciled at the Main Campus in Alexandria .
SUMMARY: Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide both hands-on and remote IT support for all 5 of its campuses. This entry-level role is perfect for candidates looking to grow their careers in information technology while directly impacting students, faculty, and staff. You’ll work as part of the IT team to support computers, servers, networks, VoIP phones, and Microsoft 365 services. Most of the day you’ll be in the role of help desk tech, but the position will require travel to the various campuses.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide remote and onsite support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain computers, tablets, peripherals, and other electronic devices.
- Assist with server administration and support on-premise and virtual servers in a VMware environment.
- Help support the campus network infrastructure, including switches, and access points.
- Support Active Directory & Microsoft 365 services, including user account setup, email configuration, and collaboration tools.
- Help manage Microsoft Teams VoIP phone system
- Monitor and assist with data backups and disaster recovery processes.
- Ensure systems and users follow basic cybersecurity practices.
- Collaborate with LCTCS IT staff on projects and continuous system improvements.
- Provide excellent customer service to all campus users.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of using computers, AV equipment, or other office technology on a regular basis.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to provide occasional after-hours support.
- Clean driving record required-Must be able to use state vehicle to travel to all campus sites.
- Excellent customer service skills
- A strong willingness to learn and keep up with the latest technology
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, etc. or at least 2 years in an IT support role
- Familiarity with Windows (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019-2025), iOS or Linux operating systems.
- Experience with or knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange, Entra, Defender, etc.; Microsoft Intune and/or SCCM preferred).
- Basic knowledge of networking and network concepts.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best-practices
- CompTia A , Net , or Sec certifications
Additional Requirements:
A valid Louisiana Driver’s License
Proof of motor vehicle insurance
