Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding their accounts.
Duties
- Manage and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely payment.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues related to billing.
- Utilize knowledge of medical billing and revenue cycle management to assist clients in understanding their financial obligations.
- Perform account reconciliation to maintain accurate records of payments and outstanding balances.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, or in-person to address inquiries and negotiate payment plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate processing of accounts payable when necessary.
- Stay updated on financial regulations to ensure compliance in all collections activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts receivable or collections is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and practices related to customer service.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and revenue cycle management is a plus.
- Excellent math skills for accurate account analysis and reconciliation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes.
