About the Role:
The Scale house Operator will operate the platform scale and weigh or calculate volume of all trucks and other vehicles dropping off material at the facility. This position will maintain a variety of records such as truck weights, material weight, number of cars and commercial vehicles, collect fees and perform other related duties as required.

Responsibilities:

- Greet haulers, check truck contamination, share onsite tipping locations, and delivery information.
- Ensure safe traffic flow onsite, as well as capacity for trucks to dump at designated areas.
- Clear communication with loader operators and site techs before trucks leave
- Accurately enter loads received and outgoing tickets in the database; create load tickets and update the sales sheet.
- Complete accurate deposits.
- Fill out daily scale house reports.
- Assist 10 yd. and above customers on load out instructions.
- Provide visitors with general info and direct questions to appropriate staff.
- Improve front office systems
- Assist with product sales as needed, and work closely with the sales and finance teams.
- General administrative support for the site, depending on the need.
- Understand backhaul schedule and relay any changes to dispatch and assist when needed.
- Report any safety concerns/hazards or defects to leadership on site when identified.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- One (1) years’ experience with scales or relevant experience preferred
- Experience in the composting/waste industry a plus
- High School Diploma or GED preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate phone, laptop/tablet or other equipment.
- Clear communication and hearing ability for in-person and phone-based client interactions.
- Visual acuity to read documents and digital screens.
- The ability to work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying environments, depending on location, which may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety-toed boots, utility gloves, hard hat, reflective vest, and safety glasses.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry or transport up to 30 lbs.
