About the Role: 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive different types of trucks, including flatbed truck, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to traffic laws
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• 2 years of previous experience
• Must be 21 years of age
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical and 7-year background check; which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle review
• Must be able to verify and maintain accurate daily records
• Be able to lift up to 65 lbs. and push/pull 200 lb. recycling containers

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

• Extensively use hands and fingers to manage or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, speak and hear. Regular sitting on a powered industrial truck
• Frequently lift to fifty pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for extended periods of time
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Having a good sense of balance
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• Must be able to climb into and out of truck several times per day using three points of contact
• Must be able to sit for extended periods as well as walk for short periods
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, and squat to perform a full inspection of the underside of the truck and inspect tires for adequate inflation and potential damage
• Must be able to work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather
• Must be able to see and hear proficiently to operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe manner
