Clow Stamping Company is seeking a Risk Manager (Environmental Health & Safety – Manufacturing) to lead safety, health, environmental compliance, and risk mitigation across our manufacturing operations. This role will lead the Safety & Environmental Health Department, manage workers' compensation claims, oversee safety training, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identifying and mitigating risk, conducting safety evaluations, leading investigations, and ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and MPCA regulations.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with evolving federal, state, and local regulations.
· Identify, assess, and prioritize risk across all manufacturing operations, promoting proactive mitigation strategies.
· Conduct regular safety assessments and lead initiatives to improve employee safety across departments.
· Coordinate and document compliance-related training (e.g., lockout/tagout, forklift operation, first aid/CPR).
· Manage incident reporting, including First Reports of Injury (FROI), lead root cause investigations, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
· Oversee and coordinate claims management for property, casualty, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance.
· Champion a proactive risk management and safety culture across all levels of the organization.
· Manage industrial waste disposal processes and maintain accurate environmental records to ensure ongoing compliance.
· Prepare and submit required regulatory reports, including RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, IMDS, and others.
· Supervise the Safety & Environmental Associates, delegate responsibilities, and ensure departmental goals are consistently achieved.
· Oversee safety equipment inspections and maintenance (e.g., fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, emergency lighting).
· Stay informed on regulatory changes and ensure all practices remain compliant with OSHA, EPA, MPCA, and other relevant standards.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in safety and environmental roles, including supervising or managing teams.
- 2-year degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) strongly desired.
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification preferred.
- Class D Water Operator License preferred.
- Forklift Train-the-Trainer course or the ability to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and MPCA regulations, particularly in General Industry safety standards.
- Experience managing safety programs, conducting safety training, and overseeing compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team, ensuring consistent adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
