Front End Sales Associate

Clovis Steel is seeking a dynamic, friendly, and customer-focused Front End Sales Associate to serve as the first point of contact for our customers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and is comfortable in a fast-paced sales environment.

The Front End Sales Associate will assist customers with product inquiries, pricing, and orders, process sales transactions, answer incoming calls, and support the daily operations of our front-end sales area. A strong understanding of steel products, steel fabrication, welding, and related metalworking processes is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet customers, vendors, and visitors with professionalism and enthusiasm, creating a welcoming and helpful environment.
• Assist customers in person and over the phone with product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order information.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line phone system while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
• Provide assistance with quotes, invoices, special orders, and customer account inquiries.
• Help customers identify and select the appropriate products based on their needs.
• Maintain organized displays, stocked shelves, and a clean front-end sales area.
• Assist with inventory-related tasks and communicate product availability to customers.
• Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure customers receive prompt and accurate service.
• Assist with daily administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales information.
• Provide a positive and professional customer experience from the initial interaction through completion of the sale.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of steel products, steel fabrication, welding, and related metalworking processes is preferred.
• Previous experience in the steel, metal fabrication, welding, construction, building materials, or related industry is strongly preferred.
• Previous customer service, retail sales, front desk, inside sales, or similar experience is preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to learn and understand product specifications and confidently assist customers with product selection.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with basic office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience operating a multi-line phone system is preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Dependable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, coworkers, and other business contacts.
